At Bedford Prep School we offer numerous trips to support the curriculum as well as for fun. Our trips and tours extend learning beyond the classroom and offer boys a huge range of experiences.
When boys join in Y3 they enjoy a number of visits to our beautiful field study centre at Ickwell. These trips, including a ‘get to know you day’, allow the boys to spend time away with their peers and teachers, and help them to start to form the bonds of friendship that last throughout their school days and beyond.
Close to home, boys enjoy Sleep Overs at the Science Museum in London, trips to the Big Bang Science Fair, Whipsnade Zoo, Priory Country Park, Houses of Parliament, National Archives, Mountfitchet Castle and Verulamium.
Boys also have the opportunity to go out on a number of inspiring residential and day trips. Our Y4s have the opportunity to attend a weekend adventure trip, and our Y5-Y6 an adventure holiday in Bude during the summer holidays.
Further afield, there are language trips to Germany, Spain and France each year, as well as regular tours: this year boys are embarking on a cricket tour of South Africa. There are also two ski trips to Austria each year, one for our Y3-Y5 boys and families at Easter and one for Y6-Y8 boys at Christmas. Thanks to our strong links with Victoria College, Jersey is the destination for a weekend sports tour each year for Y6 boys.
Boarders at Eagle House
There are plenty of trips organised throughout the year for our boarders (usually on a Sunday). These include go-carting, crazy golf, cinema, high rope climbing, indoor surfing, bowling, indoor rock climbing and visits to the theatre both here at school and in Milton Keynes.
During the summer term, Eagle House go on a residential trip to the National Forest. They spend two nights in a youth hostel completing a range of activities including quad biking, laser quest and water slides. The trip always finishes with a highly popular visit to Alton Towers Theme Park.
