Outstanding Academic Ambition
Boys learn in small classes, guided by talented teachers who know how to bring out the best in them. Recent results speak for themselves: in 2025, 50% of all Sixth Form qualifications were graded A*-A and 85% were graded A*-B.
88% of boys went on to Russell Group or Times Top 30 universities, including Oxbridge, as well as international universities and competitive degree apprenticeships.
Developing Future-Ready Skills
From the youngest years to the Sixth Form, each boy takes part in a structured programme that builds his digital technology skills and entrepreneurial thinking (and doing!). Whether he’s pitching ideas, solving real‑world problems or taking part in the world-class Ivy House leadership programme, he’ll gain the confidence and skills to shape his own path.
Every boy also makes a meaningful contribution to the local community through the Community Partnership Programme and learns what it means to be a responsible citizen.
Our award‑winning careers and UCAS programme offers personalised guidance throughout each boy’s time at Bedford, from discovering interests to preparing for interviews. Whatever his goals, he’ll be supported to achieve them.
Careers and Higher Education Support
Bedford School gives each boy a clear runway for life beyond Bedford. School is not the end point, but the launchpad.
Boys can also look forward to joining our vibrant and supportive alumni network with over nine thousand Old Bedfordians around the world.
An Extraordinary Range of Opportunities
Bedford is, first and foremost, a boarding school, and all boys, whether they board or not, benefit from the strength of our boarding ethos. All included in the fees, every boy can get involved in:
- Creative arts: Orchestras and ensembles, competitions, exhibitions and theatre productions (on stage or behind the scenes).
- a renowned sport programme, with three full afternoons of sport per week plus extensive co-curricular sport
- over 100 weekly clubs, societies and activities
- workshops, lectures, and visiting speakers
- Academic clinics (small-group subject tutoring), available to all as needed
This breadth helps boys discover passions and develop both skills and friendships for life.
Food – Fuel for the Body and Mind
All meals are also included in fees, with a wide variety of healthy, delicious options every day—ideal for boys who, as we like to say, run on their stomachs.
Dietary needs are fully catered for, ensuring every boy is well looked after.
Wraparound Care & Supervised Study
For boys in Years 3 to 8, fees include free wraparound care from 8:00am to 5:45pm, providing flexibility and peace of mind for busy families.
From Year 9 onwards, all boys can take advantage of free supervised study every weekday evening until 7:00pm — helping them develop independence, good habits and focus.
Supporting the Whole Family
At Bedford School, community matters. Parents are warmly welcomed and encouraged to be part of school life, and so the following are all offered free of charge:
- A comprehensive programme of free talks, events and networking opportunities
- Invitations to exhibitions, lectures and concerts
- Match teas and rugby lunches
Our Parent Partnership Programme, in particular, offers talks, workshops, an annual conference and ongoing guidance, closely aligned with the boys’ PSHE curriculum — helping you feel informed, confident and supported throughout your son’s school journey.
Quite simply, Bedford School fees deliver outstanding value — giving opportunities, support and experiences that extend far beyond the classroom.
