Gilbert Loyd Lecture – Bauhaus: Idea and Reality

November 21 | 19:30 - 21:00

Founded exactly 100 years ago, the Bauhaus espoused a bold, interdisciplinary approach to artistic education. Over its 14-year existence, the Bauhaus faculty included Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Walter Gropius and Mies van der Rohe. In this lecture, culture historian Gavin Plumley looks at the history and the legacy of the Bauhaus, stretching far beyond 1993, the year it was closed down by the Nazis.
