Our Y5 boys visited Queens Park in Bedford this past week as part of their overall spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, which forms an important part of their Topic study of the British Isles.

The visit offered first-hand experience of communities and faith groups through places important to them and people who value them. During the day, the boys visited the Jamia Masjid Gulshane Baghdad Mosque, All Saints Church and the Guru Nanak Gurdwara.

In Queens Park, there is an important and strong community dimension that the Y5 boys were able to appreciate.  The faith tour helped them to glimpse a community in which people live alongside each other and recognise difference, but celebrate the common life, culture and beliefs that they share.
