The mysteries of Ancient Egypt came under investigation by our intrepid Y3 explorers on Friday when they ventured to uncover the secrets of one of the world’s oldest civilizations.

Brilliantly attired as either Ancient Egyptians or Egyptologists, the boys enjoyed delving into this wonderfully rich period, known for its incredible pyramids, near-mythical pharaohs, hieroglyphic writing and, of course, its mummies!

The boys enjoyed a fun-filled morning of fact hunting, fascinating artefacts and games before they immersed themselves in the fantastical world of the ancient Egyptians in dramatic style after the death of a mighty pharaoh. The boys explored the many rituals that follow the death, including tomb building, the mummification process, burial ceremonies and, finally, the crowning of the new Pharaoh.

Even lunchtime proved an exciting adventure, as the boys enjoyed some tasty Egyptian treats laid on by our catering team.
