Wow! What a Year! The musical is coming to Bedford Prep School this summer!
We joined boys in the Wow! Choir during early rehearsals to get a sneak peek of the musical they will share with you in June.
It is still very early days, but the 50+ Y5 to Y8 boys signed up for the choir were practising the songs at the heart of this all-singing and all-dancing musical that charts the extraordinary and challenging experiences of young students and their families over the course of the pandemic. Expect to hear catchy pop and rock songs along with ballads covering everything from home-schooling to panic buying loo-roll, baffling and constantly changing government edicts to Captain Tom, from your sons in the weeks ahead.
While the production is full of humour—look out for Iris the Virus, the scientists: Professor Hans Facenspace and Professor Pam Demic—as Mrs Gedye explained, “The musical is also heartfelt and sensitive, with songs such as H.E.R.O., celebrating the frontline workers whose amazing efforts provided a lifeline during the pandemic and A Place in my Heart, recognising the sacrifices made by so many, and the loved ones lost. I can’t wait for the boys to share this musical with you all.”
One thing is sure—you will not be able to stop yourself from singing the songs from this 60-minute musical.
