Our Y5 boys joined with girls from Bedford Girls’ School to wrap up their term’s topic work on Europe, which they did with an authentic Spanish flourish.

The Y5 boys and girls were introduced to Spanish music, singing and dance moves in fun dance sessions with Zest Dance, finding out about flamenco before learning some dance moves to vibrant Latin beats. Everyone was encouraged to give it a go, not to worry about getting the moves wrong, and just have fun! By the end of each session, even the most reluctant dancers could not help but join in – even if only a little!

During the day, pupils also worked together in the Inky library, researching Britain’s place in Europe, the many different cultures across Europe and what makes each one unique, learning about Spanish culture and history in particular.

Throughout the day, it was clear to see the pupils enjoying working and dancing together.
