We are delighted to announce that Hayden Grattan (Y7) has been awarded not one but two more computing awards: the Innovation Award and second prize in the Year 8 category in the British Computer Society Coding Challenge.

Hayden made the news earlier this year when he won the British Computer Society’s Junior competition, which tasked entrants to create a resource to show how computers can help save the planet. This week, he was delighted to receive his latest awards for his brilliant ‘Stop Cyberbullies’ website and film at a virtual awards ceremony.

Hayden explained that he enjoys the challenge that computing offers and even sets himself challenges outside of school to push him even further.

Headmaster, Ian Silk, commented, “To receive one award for computing is wonderful; to receive three is simply incredible! Hayden’s website is a great piece of coding and a brilliant and mature response to the issue of Cyberbullying. My congratulations go to Hayden.”

We are proud as a school to have a strong focus on digital learning and work hard to equip all our boys with key skills for life. We are equally proud to provide those with a passion in this area with the chance to fly.”
