Always legendary, this year’s Prep School trip – the largest ever with 83 boys – was no exception.

As the term ended, the boys from Y6 to Y8 headed off to enjoy a fantastic week skiing on the stunning slopes of the Zillertal area in the Austrian Tirol. Whether beginner or competent skier, there were challenges and adventures to be had by all. From strapping on their skis for their very first lesson to successfully navigating the ski lifts for the first time, skiing new and exciting runs to hopping onto a helicopter for some heliskiing, there was fun for all.

The boys were blessed for the first few days by glorious winter sunshine, but even on cloudier days, it was hard not to feel lucky to be in such a beautiful part of the world. Throughout the week, we were so impressed with all the boys, who showed grit and determination, kindness to each other and a brilliant attitude in all they did. Our superhero eagle helmet may have been awarded each day, but each and every boy proved that they were a superhero eagle throughout the week.

However, as ever, the fun was not limited to the slopes; there was plenty of après ski activity to enjoy, from loads of silly games and competitions to competitive bowling, not to mention a superb Tyrollean evening with a highly memorable and hilarious Austrian ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, which we are sure will stay with the boys and us for a very long time.

Some very happy but tired boys returned home on 18 December with wonderful memories, new skills and tales to tell after enjoying an unforgettable week away.
