This week our Y5 boys put their best feet forward with pride as they learned the art of polishing shoes. This was a new skill for some, but we are pleased to say that they approached the activity with positivity and enthusiasm and are now clearly pros.

The activity, which is part of our Y5 Life Skills sessions, is designed to give the boys a sense of ownership over their lives and, more importantly, to provide them with the confidence to be more independent. In the same vein, the boys have already learned how to sew on a button and tie a tie with various knots.

Next term, the boys will head to our Dining Hall to learn about food hygiene, food preparation and table etiquette, and cook an omelette.

We hope that the boys will continue to practise their new-found skills by putting them to good use. No excuses!
