Many congratulations to Silas Sanders in our Lower Sixth Form, who has been offered a place in The National Youth Choir, perhaps the most inspiring organisation for young choral singers in the UK.

Silas has been singing since he was 10 years old, when he joined King’s College Choir in Cambridge as a chorister. It was the regular services there that grew his love of, and passion for choral singing, and music in general. Since then, Silas has also been a member of the Chapel Choir here at Bedford.

Following an enjoyable residential course with the National Youth Choir organisation, Silas successfully auditioned to sing with the main choir, which comprises of only the 100 best young voices in the UK.

Silas told us, “I’m honoured and hugely excited to sing with The National Youth Choir. Choral singing is my passion and so to be recognised in this way is a dream come true. I can’t wait to start.”

This is an incredible achievement for Silas and we look forward to hearing how he gets on.
