Callum Smyth (20-22) has been picked for the Scottish Under 20s Rugby team ahead of the 2024 Six Nations. Affectionately known as ‘The Truck’ during his time playing at Bedford School, Callum has been enjoying an incredible few years since leaving, last year gaining a place with the Macphail Rugby Scholarship and spending six months in South Africa, at Stellenbosch University.

Most recently Callum has been playing with the Glasgow Warriors as one of the 15 FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy players and trains with and plays for the FOSROC Future XV – the newly formed FOSROC Super Series side which is built upon the next generation of young Scottish players. Playing full time professional rugby has meant relocating to Galashiels on the Scottish borders to be closer to the club.

“Getting selected for the U20’s was a brilliant feeling, I’ve sacrificed so much this year and I’m really looking forward to playing on the bigger stage. I’m loving living in Scotland, training with Glasgow Warriors and the U20’s. It has brought the very best out of me and I’m taking in the whole experience. I’m driven to perform and give my very best as a player but ultimately this year I’m excited and proud to represent Scotland.”

The first game for in the opening round will be Friday 2nd February at Stadium CSM in Wales (all games will be live on BBC iplayer)

We wish Callum all the best for the upcoming games and will be watching avidly!
