We are saddened to inform you that OB Dominic Wyer-Roberts (85-90) passed away suddenly on Saturday 2nd September, aged just 45. Dom was the eldest of three brothers; Ben (87-92) and Jerome (90-96), who all attended the School. An outstanding sportsman, during his time at Bedford, Dom was a top class rugby player and oarsman, representing the School in both the First XV and the First VIII. You may be interested to see some write-ups from the Ousel which mention Dom and his contribution to both rugby and rowing at Bedford School. He later went on to play for Bedford Blues, making 40 appearances for their first team.
Our thoughts are with his entire family but in particular his wife Kate, and children Grace, Augustus and Fabian. Dom will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family has informed us that the funeral will take place on Friday 22nd September at 2.30pm at Nassington Church, Northamptonshire. All OBs are welcome.
