On Sunday 18th September, past parent John Fordham organised a ‘Tour of Bedfordshire’, cycling 120 miles around the perimeter of the County to raise funds for the charity ‘Making Me’.

John was also joined by his two sons, OBs Matt (07-18) and Joe (08-19), plus a group of friends including other OBs, past and current parents, and staff from the school.  The group can be seen here at the finishing point, Bedford Park bandstand.

If this wasn’t enough, prior to the ride, John, along with two friends,  had just completed an 8-day ride around the southwest coast, covering 509 miles, with nearly 50,000ft of country-road climbing.

‘Making Me’ is a mental health charity, founded by John’s wife Liz, which proactively equips children with the knowledge and understanding to stay mentally and emotionally well. They do this by delivering resources and workshops to children in primary schools that help to develop children’s emotional literacy and build their resilience. To date, they have delivered their workshops to almost 40 schools in and around Bedford (including Bedford prep), reaching approximately 10,500 children.
