Despite ominous dark skies, excitement was high as our Y3 and Y4 boys headed outside for a fun day of learning in the great outdoors for Outdoor Classroom Day.

Packed to the brim with fun and engaging activities, the day provided the boys with a great opportunity to connect with nature and the environment and encouraged them to develop life skills such as resilience, problem-solving, teamwork and creativity. However, most of all, the day was great fun and truly engaged the boys in their learning.

In between dodging downpours, the boys enjoyed a bug hunt (they even found a newt!), den building with sticklets, a leaf and colour hunt, and quiet reading in the Quarry Theatre Gardens, to name just a few. The boys topped off their day in style with a theatre performance of A Midsummers Night’s Dream.

What a wonderful way to spend the day and make the most of the beautiful on-site outdoor spaces we are so fortunate to have.
