Remove Former James Watson learned this week that he has been awarded a prestigious organ scholarship with the Royal School of Church Music. With only two places available, and with the usual age range of scholars between 16 to 21 years, James is over the moon to be offered the scholarship at just 15 years of age.

James will travel to Bath in August to attend a week-long course, based at Kingswood School, where he will work with Edmund Aldhouse, the Director of Music at Ely Cathedral, and will hopefully play parts of the services in Bath Abbey.

James started playing the organ aged 11 years old and accompanies the School Chapel service regularly. He is one our very promising music scholars at the school and boards here on a weekly basis. Talking about his experience as a boarder, he says the best part is the fact that his housemates are like one big family to him and encourage him to follow his passion in music. James also plays the Double Bass at Grade 8 and Piano at Grade 7.
