If you were lucky enough to get a seat in our Music Recital Hall for ‘An Evening of Film Music’ held on Tuesday 27 February, then you’ll know what an electrifying night it was.

The evening was initiated, produced and directed by our hugely creative Upper Sixth Former, Ollie Graham. The 25-strong orchestra performed a large number of the most exciting and beautiful scores in Hollywood music against a backdrop of video montages.

Ollie single-handedly led the event, spending months transcribing and arranging the music. Ollie also galvanised and inspired the musicians (who were all there voluntarily), and created an orchestra made up of both teachers and pupils of Bedford School to realise these amazing scores by composers such as John Williams and Hans Zimmer.

Ollie told us, “It was so exciting to have the opportunity to showcase some of my favourite pieces of film music. We had a full turn-out and raised just under £200 for Cancer Research. I am so grateful for everyone who gave their free time to make the concert happen.”
