On Saturday 2nd February the boys had their annual coaching session with OBs Peter Mellor (57-62) and Graham Saunders (58-64). Peter was Fives National Schools Champion 3 years on the trot when he was at school, a feat that has never been matched and he retains a keen interest in the game. He now comes up from Hampshire once a year to coach our school players.
Both Peter and Graham offer advice and guidance while the boys are playing on court. As and when they think it necessary, they step in and offer suggestions. Graham comes back to play for the OBs in March when OBs take on the school. The hope is that his coaching will make the fixture a closer game as the school have not beaten the OBs for a number of years!
