On Saturday 7th October OB’s Alasdair Rendall (88-99) and Stephen Woodward (99-08) were triumphant as the winners of Eurovision: Stars in their Eyes. Alongside their friend Robert Wells as ‘Il-Volo’ they successfully performed ‘Grande Amore’ the Italian entry to the 2015 contest, beating 11 other acts and winning the votes of a crowd of over 300 attendees at the annual convention of OGAE-UK (the official Eurovision fan-club). Alasdair previously served 6 years as the President of the fan-club and was the key force in organising the highly praised Euroclub at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest held in Liverpool. Alasdair and Stephen met back in 2018 at a Eurovision fan event and quickly bonded as close friends over the coincidence of both being OBs! They are now contemplating representing the UK at a pan-European version next summer.
