Bedford Prep were crowned National Badminton Champions at
the IAPS Finals at Great Walstead School in Sussex last week.

Josha Mital and Joshua Stewart worked brilliantly as a
team to win all seven of their matches in the U11 competition, including
victories over the strong pair from Milton Keynes Prep, who they met twice (in
the group stages and again in the final).  The pair’s superb performance
gained them the very well-deserved national title.

Arin Mital and Ashlesh Chandrapu also put in a superb
performance to reach U13 finals.  On route to the final, the pair won all
seven of their matches, including a very tough group game against Beachborough,
who had the British U13 number one player playing for them, and a very exciting
semi-final against Great Walstead, which they just won 21-18.  However,
they were denied the title by a very strong team from Winchester House.

Our congratulations go to all four boys on their
brilliant performances.  The future looks very bright for the sport at
Bedford with such amazing badminton in evidence.
