Movember came to the Prep School on Wednesday when five former Prep pupils, all now in the Upper Sixth, came to speak to the boys in assembly.

Will Roberts, Nat Lord, Tom Godber, Khush Shah and Robert Parish, who are all involved in this year’s school Movember campaign, explained to the boys that while Movember is a lot of fun – a viewing of last year’s parody film proved that – it also shares an important message about looking after yourself and one another. The Upper boys stressed the importance of talking with your friends if you are worried or a bit down – this affects us all at times and is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about.

During the assembly, our Prep boys also asked the five Sixth formers about their time in the Prep School.

Question: What are your best memories of your time in the Prep School
Answer: Playing moonball on the Astro.

Question: What did you worry about in the Prep School?
Answer: Block exams. However, the boys were keen to stress that if they could offer themselves some advice, it would be to worry less. As important as the exams seem right now, there is no need to worry about them.

In fact, the boys’ overarching message to the boys was one of positivity. They encouraged them to enjoy their Prep School time and ‘go for it’, to try and explore as many things as possible, as you never know whether you’ll like something or be good at it unless you give it a go.
