Speed, accuracy and teamwork were all needed for a somewhat different maths lesson for our Y6 boys on Thursday.

Instead of their usual maths lesson, the boys headed out onto the Prep Astro for some fun but challenging maths relays. Competing for the glory of their Houses and all-important House Cup points, working in sets of pairs, A and B, the boys tackled the high-speed maths challenge.

The race was on to solve the first maths problem; pair A could only pass the figurative relay baton on to pair B once the teacher checked their answer and confirmed it correct. It was then over to pair B to tackle their leg of the relay. With 15 questions for each pair, speed and accuracy were vital from every boy. It was clear to see from the ensuing frenzy of activity and excitement the pleasure they took from the competitive challenge.
