The wealth of musical talent at Bedford Prep was clearly on show in this week’s highly enjoyable Autumn Concert.

The warm Caribbean sounds of the steel pans opened the concert in style, albeit with a Christmassy theme, before the Prep School’s many bands, ensembles, choirs and orchestras entertained the packed audience with a wonderful selection of music.

During the evening the Jazz Band, Recorder Ensemble, Junior Strings, Y3 Choir, Senior Choir, Rock Band, Intermediate and Advanced Guitar Ensembles, Y3 and Y4 Band, Intermediate Band, Senior Band, Chamber Orchestra and Prep School Orchestra all took to the stage to perform.

Headmaster Ian Silk had high praise for the boys and staff, saying, “A big thank you to the Music department for the wonderful Autumn Concert on Thursday evening. The evening was a tremendous success, with highly entertaining performances from all. I must say it was a surprise to hear Barry White played by the recorder ensemble! Having seen the amount of work the department and the boys do to prepare for the show, its quality is no surprise, but impressive nonetheless. A vast well done to all the boys and staff, and thank you to parents and staff who came to support.”
