Harry Potter Book Night proved a magical experience for all our aspiring wizards in Y3 and Y4.

This year’s theme was ‘Magical Journeys’ and no journey could be complete without a trip on the Knight Bus. A brilliant reading by Professor McGonagall, AKA Mrs Carrington, took the boys on a breath-taking adventure on the fantastical purple triple-decker bus, complete with seats by day and beds by night, as it whizzed not only around the streets of London but also half the country! Inspired by the journey, the boys are now dreaming up designs for tickets for the Knight Bus. The winners of this fun competition will be announced next week.

Boys also created their own ‘Marauder’s Maps’ using invisible ink, brewed up magical potions in science, crafted miniature broomsticks, coloured quill pencil tops and skilfully folded origami snitches during the fun lunchtime and after school sessions. Our Y3 boys even enjoyed a match of quidditch (every wizard’s favourite sport) in games.

As ever, the magical world of Harry Potter fuelled the boys’ imagination and love of reading as they listened avidly to the stories, dressed up in costume and created their own little corner of this wonderful wizarding world.
