On what famous ship did Charles Darwin sail to South America that led to his beliefs in the theory of evolution? What nickname is given to the city of Oxford? Ryder and Marshall are characters from which television programme? (answers at the bottom of the page)

These are just a few of the questions that boys faced in our brilliant House General Knowledge Competition Final this week.

Following on from the form heats in December, the most knowledgeable minds (highest scoring) from each year group joined together in House teams to compete in the competition final. Compered by our brilliant quiz master, Mr Guest, this was a quiz competition to remember not only for the fantastic knowledge of the boys but also for all the fun and laughter along the way. There was even audience and staff participation!

Miss Bamber told us, “It was wonderful to see boys from Y3 to Y8 working together for their Houses and to witness the incredible knowledge our boys possess. The competition clearly showed that it’s cool to be smart!”

Our congratulations go to all the boys who took part, and special congratulations to Harpur, who took the victory this year.

Answers: HMS Beagle, The City of Dreaming Spires, Paw Patrol
