Our gardening club moved beyond the classroom this week to sow the first of their outdoor planters.

This week it was all about fruit and vegetables, and we now have a planter full of cucumber, parsley (both grown from seed), tomatoes, peas, French beans and broad beans. The boys were hands-on in helping to prepare the soil and planting the seeds and young seedlings, as well as giving them their first watering outdoors.

Next week they will be planting their flower planter with giant sunflowers and French marigolds.

We look forward to seeing the plants grow under their enthusiastic but careful care. Volunteers for watering duty are already lining up!
