Our Prep boys are already learning the ropes and getting to grips with the basics of climbing on the school’s climbing wall this term.
We joined boys from Y6, Y7 and Y8 during games as they were put through their paces by Mr Milton and Mrs Chaillou-Kindred.
Starting with safety first, the boys learned how to check their kit, position their harness correctly, attach the ropes to the harness safely and ensure there are no twists. After a second safety check from their teachers, the boys were ready for the wall. We were highly impressed by both their climbing skills and belaying skills as the boys worked together as teams.
As their confidence and skills grow, we hope that the boys will be able to work towards climbing certifications.
