The Old Bedfordians kicked off their 2018 season with an impressive win in the Cricketer Cup over Marlborough Blues on Sunday, 17th June. Batting first, the OBs scored an imposing total of 269-6 with Will Aitkenhead (04-09) scoring 91, Christian Davis (00-11) 63 and Will Gallimore (04-09) 40.
In response, the Marlborough Blues started well and, at the halfway point, the game was very much in the balance. However, the introduction of George Wood (83-94) to the attack changed the game as he picked up 4/48 from his ten overs and Tim Chapman (88-98) returned to help clean up the tail as he also finished with four wickets.
