Boys returning to school this term will have noticed a fresh new look to our Dining Hall following its recent refurbishment over the summer to create a more vibrant and inviting space for our boys to enjoy their meals.

In terms of design, the Dining Hall now has a clean, minimalistic look incorporating stylish copper, steel-grey and chalk tones, with the school’s iconic logo ‘spire’ running along the length of the main serving counter.

With a multitude of clubs and societies each and every lunchtime, not to mention all important time to relax with friends, we are all too aware that an efficient service is important to boys and staff. Thanks to the state-of-the-art food stations and self-service counters we can ensure a quicker and more efficient service and reduce waiting times for the boys, enabling them to make the very most of their lunch breaks.

One of the most notable enhancements is the flood of natural light into the space, brightening up the atmosphere and creating a cheery ambience and overall more pleasant experience.

Beyond the physical enhancements, the new-look Dining Hall reflects our commitment to promoting healthy eating habits and fostering a sense of community within the school. We have worked closely with our school caterers Chartwells to ensure that the food options available are nutritious, well-balanced and cater to the various dietary requirements of pupils. Tasty meals provide boys with fuel for their lessons, sporting activities and provide vital nutrients necessary for their growth and development.

Emma Lickley, Catering Director, who oversaw the refurbishment project along with the rest of the catering team, explained, “The idea of the new Dining Hall refurb was to create a fantastic environment for all the boys with a real contemporary, modern feel. With the new style of counters and layout, we also wanted to deliver a faster service during lunch time which has proved successful within the first couple of weeks of term. The feedback from the boys has been fantastic and very positive not only for the main dining room but also for our new dedicated medical diets counter. We are seeing the Prep School boys showing more confidence with collecting their lunch, knowing we have a dedicated medical diets team on hand to help.”
