Jay was delighted to have been recently recognised as the Global Entrepreneur of the Year (south East), at The Allica Bank Global Entrepreneur Awards.  Jay was recognised for his outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication to excellence in the field of entrepreneurship.  The Awards received over 5,000 nominations with previous winner James Watt, founder of BrewDog, likening the experience to ’better than winning the World Cup’!

The society heard Jay’s career journey from the laboratories of King’s College, London where he developed a passion for disease prevention and public health.  After leaving King’s,  he led a team of experts developing and commercialising products that use propriety NASA developed space technology.  Jay launched AirForLife in 2017, bringing new technology to the market improving the quality of life for millions of people around the world who suffer from the effects of air pollution, allergens, viruses, bacteria and odours.  Jay shared the ups and downs of setting up your own business and the importance of having a scalable market for your product.   Members of the society asked some excellent questions from how to fund a business through to the importance of having a well developed marketing plan.

Simon Everitt, Master in Charge of the school’s entrepreneur programme, thanked Jay and wished him well with the expansion of his business into Asia and beyond.
