Over the Easter break, 38 boys from Y7 and Y8 enjoyed a wonderful French adventure in Burgundy.  Their home for the week was Maison Claire Fontaine, a purpose-built language centre in a wonderful rural setting.

Whilst there, the boys had French lessons delivered by their onsite teachers in addition to a wide range of activities conducted in French, including archery, circus skills, high ropes and mosaic making. Exciting excursions included a trip to a château and the medieval town of Vézelay.  The boys also made the most of French cuisine, testing their culinary skills with a fun cookery class, visiting the local market to buy and prepare their own lunch one day,  and trying snails, which were on the tasting menu for the last evening – over thirty boys opted to try them – an impressive feat!

There is no doubt that the boys’ confidence and understanding in French improved during the week.

Thank you to all the boys and parents for their lovely, positive feedback.
