Y6 boys visited Bedford Girls’ School on Thursday for an afternoon dedicated to staying safe online.

The pupils from both schools enjoyed a carousel of three workshops together.

Bystander Pledge Mural

In small groups, pupils discussed why being a positive bystander in digital spaces is important before brainstorming pledges that would contribute to a safer online community. Using drawings, words and symbols, the pupils created a mural to represent their pledges visually.

E-safety Drama Workshop

The drama workshop focused on cyberbullying, online privacy and digital footprint. Through role plays, the pupils acted out scenarios before discussing the key messages within each one and possible strategies for handling similar situations in real life. They also reflected on how understanding different perspectives can help promote a safer online environment.

Campaign Workshop

Pupils explored the dos and don’ts of effective e-safety and how campaigns around these can raise awareness. They created posters, poems, songs and social media posts in groups to share their messages effectively and creatively.
