Our brilliant Digital Leaders have been busy delivering assemblies ahead of Safer Internet Week.

Digital Leaders from Y6 and Y7 stepped up to take the stage and deliver three age-appropriate assemblies on the theme ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’ to the different key stage groups, with the focus in each chosen by the Digital Leaders.

For Y3 and Y4, the Digital Leaders asked boys to think about how they feel when they see things online that make them unhappy and what they should do. For Y5 and Y6, the Digital Leaders explored how technology has changed and invited conversations about the positive and negative impacts influencers can have. Y7 and Y8 boys also looked at changing technology and explored how living in a connected world can be harmful and how to get help.

We are delighted to say that the Digital Leaders’ assemblies were superb, and the boys giving them were confident and knowledgeable. Also, as Mr Affleck told boys, “It is incredibly brave to stand up in front of your peers and deliver an assembly.”

Mrs Dale and Mrs Gordon told us, “The Digital Leaders all did brilliantly! It was wonderful to see them using the knowledge they gained from their Childnet Digital Leaders training last summer term and the areas we discussed this year. They relished the challenge of delivering the assemblies and enjoyed the experience. Next week, boys across the school will carry out further internet safety activities with their Tutors.”
