Our Y3 boys have been busy this week exploring shapes in maths and making another foray into the science labs.

The boys started the week using their new devices for a 3D shape hunt around the playground. They amazed us by spotting and naming so many different 3D shapes, including cylinders, cuboids, cones and cubes – all hidden in plain sight but found by the curious and imaginative boys.

Back in the classroom, the boys worked together to create some brilliant 3D models, learning about faces, vertices and edges along the way. It was great to see the boys collaborating to solve problems.

While in science, the boys were busy experimenting in the lab. Focusing on thermal insulators, the boys predicted results, and used their own experiences to justify their ideas and discuss fair testing.

Head of Y3, Mrs Carrington, told us, “The boys have been brilliant this week and have displayed great perseverance. Endeavour Eagle and Professor Curiosity have most definitely been on show.”
