The school’s Chapel Choir has a rich, centuries-old history of performing in the Chapel and at other venues around the UK and across Europe. Their tours always prove a wonderful experience, and this year’s tour to Exeter was no exception.

Thirty-six boys aged nine to 18 excitedly departed for Exeter on Tuesday 11 July (with a further six Y4 boys joining them on Saturday) for a week-long tour and residency at Exeter Cathedral. During the week, the choir sang six full services in the stunning cathedral (five Evensongs and a Eucharist) as they deputised for the resident Cathedral Choir, who themselves were on tour.

The boys enjoyed many fun activities in and around the area between the services and rehearsals, from karting to fun on the beach and everything in between.

Mr Roberts, Head of Choral Music, said, “The Chapel Choir sang a challenging programme of music with great and increasing accomplishment. There were many musical highlights, although perhaps some of the boys will remember more our leisure activities: trips to the beach, laser tag, bowling and karting, as well as eating three tons of pizza each.”

We are proud to say that the boys were, as ever, a real credit to the school, impressing all they met with their excellent behaviour and singing. The tour proved a wonderful celebration of the commitment, service and true team spirit the boys showed throughout the year.
