Our youngest boarders from Eagle House enjoyed a rather special day last term when they welcomed cricketing legend and Old Bedfordian Sir Alastair Cook (98-03) back to school.

The England cricketing hero was back at school, playing this time for the Bedfordshire Farmers in our annual match against our own staff team, The Ousels. Whilst it may not have been his most successful match (he was caught for five by Mr Mee, our recently departed Director of Hockey), he did find time afterwards to say hello to all the Eagle boarders who had waited patiently (after a spell in the nearby cricket nets) to meet our celebrity OB.

He shared words of encouragement with all of them, and the event marked a wonderful end to National Boarding Week for our smallest boarders.

This memorial event followed an early evening session in the Quarry Theatre watching their classmates in Yanomamo, a Prep School production and the world’s first ecological musical.
