Our U12A rugby team were delighted to win the 2023 Finborough Festival on Sunday 1 October. Crowned joint winners in 2022, the boys were standalone victors in 2023.
Each year, 12 top teams from across the region travel to Finborough School in Suffolk to compete for this coveted title.
A win against Royal Hospital School, a draw against Gresham’s and a superb victory in a tough match against Bury St Edmunds RFC saw Bedford Prep win their group stage. Their great result saw them through to the top tier and a triangular against fellow group winners Bishops Stortford and Framlingham for the title.
Bishop Stortford and Framlingham were up first, with Framlington taking the win. Bedford Prep then faced Bishop Stortford and played superbly to take the victory, resulting in a title decider. In the final and decisive match against Framlingham, we are pleased to say that the boys held their nerve and maintained their superb play to win both the game and the festival.
