Upper Sixth Former, Harrison Burgoine’s route to university is less than traditional but equally as exciting, and an option we are seeing more and more of.

Harrison, is one of many young adults across the country who will commence a degree-level apprenticeship this September. With five unconditional offers on the table, Harrison was delighted to be in a position to choose the best offer for him; working for high-end construction company, Walter Lilly & Co Ltd.

Harrison will spend one day of his working week studying Construction at London South Bank University while gaining valuable, practical, on-the-job experience in the workplace. In addition to earning a salary, Harrison’s degree is being paid for by his employers and the government, allowing him to graduate without accruing a large debt.

This is a great example of an alternative route to university through which Harrison can earn a competitive salary and a degree, while shaping his career in the process. We wish him every success.
