Before he leaves Bedford School, our aim is for every boy to have made a meaningful contribution to the local community. Our Community Partnership Programme creates links with groups and organisations in the Bedford area, including many local primary schools, where boys can make a regular commitment each week.
Through these mutually beneficial partnerships, boys engage more fully with the world around them and learn about their local town and how to be responsible citizens within it. And as a school community, we are able to help play our part in supporting the good work done by many in Bedford, both educationally and socially.
As well as engaging on a local level, boys also take part in many national and international initiatives to give time and raise money for charities and causes across the globe. The most notable contribution is perhaps to the annual Movember campaign, where boys and staff regularly raise over £25 000 for the men’s mental health charity, topping the leaderboard for schools’ contributions.
