Y3 have been, quite literally, sinking their teeth into their new Greek topic with relish. During a special lesson in the Dining Halls last week, the boys tasted a whole host of traditional Greek foods – from pitta to chicken gyros, feta salad with olives and a mint and yoghurt dip to loukoumades, delicious golden balls of fried dough bathed in a sweet syrup that are a speciality of Crete. There were plenty of new foods and flavours to try.

Over the coming weeks, there are plenty more fun and fascinating topics to fire the interest and imagination of the boys as they investigate the ancient and modern Olympics, explore Greek geography, research Greek gods, uncover Greek archaeology and art, act out some Greek myths, read about myths and legends as well as creating some of their own with meraki – (Greek verb) to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put something of yourself in your work.
