This year the Eagle Choir held their summer concert away from the Bedford School site. On 15th June they performed “an Evening of American Choral Classics” at All Saints Church, Turvey – a very beautiful venue.

Directed by their Musical Director, Harry Bagnall, the program included Five Hebrew Lovesongs by Eric Whitacre and the Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein as well as three Jazz Spirituals and some classic Jazz Standards and Folk songs. The choir was ably accompanied by Jeremy Rouse on the organ, Felicity Meakins on the harp, Lottie Greenhow on the violin and Tristan Walker on percussion. The choir was made to feel very welcome by the Turvey villagers and they were very appreciative of both their performance and support of their church. There was a large audience and the proceeds from ticket sales went towards the church. All those in attendance enjoyed the evening which included a glass of wine at the interval. All Saints Church has invited the choir to perform again in the future.

The choir hopes to perform at more local churches. Their next concert planned is at St Mary’s Church in Buckden on Saturday 9th November, where their programme will include Lloyd Webber’s Requiem.
