Some of our Y3 boys enjoyed an extra special French lesson this week; learning how to make pain perdu (French toast) while practising their French vocabulary.

After an initial fear of cracking eggs and somewhat sticky fingers, the boys soon mastered the culinary skills and French needed for their pain perdu.

And the result . . . délicieux! There were thumbs up all-round.

Did you know?

Pain perdu translates as ‘lost bread’ or ‘stale bread’ as it is a recipe for using up the last of the loaf.
