Over thirty Upper Sixth boys
became Hungry Men this week as they cooked up a storm in the school’s dining
halls.

The two fun cookery sessions,
designed to give the boys hands on, practical experience of food survival away
from home, went down a treat with the boys.

In a series of cook-along
sessions, led by Sodexo Catering Manager Will Dixon MBE, the boys mastered
mince three-ways: chilli, spaghetti bolognaise and fajitas, eggs four ways:
poached, scrambled and fried, plus omelettes, as well as chicken curry and chicken
stir fry.

Working in teams of three, every
boy enjoyed the opportunity to cook a number of the dishes and sampled their
culinary creations, all of which cost under a tenner!

The boys left the sessions armed
with a great selection of simple, healthy meals that they can cook on a budget,
an enthusiasm to get in the kitchen, and some great memories.  Overall, a
highly enjoyable experience, and one which will stand them in good stead as
they head off to university later in the year.
