Taking part in a debating competition can be a daunting prospect – taking part in a French debating competition, when French isn’t your first language, could be considered to be even more daunting. Oscar Hill and Jack O’Donovan (Removes) did just this at The Perse School on Thursday 15 June, competing against some of the best schools in the region including representatives from Stephen Perse, The Leys School, Bedford Girls’ School and Framlingham. Oscar and Jack were enthusiastic and committed – qualities that were well-rewarded by getting through to the semi-finals and ultimately finishing third out of 14 entries – a huge achievement!
