Y6 Boys Live the Tudor Life

Y6 Boys Live the Tudor Life

Famous kings and queens, gruesome punishments, weird and wonderful medicine, smelly professions and brutal sports! It could only be the Tudor times.

As courtiers and servants for the day, our Y6 boys explored life in Tudor times in a fun, interactive and highly engaging workshop on Tuesday 4 June.

Dressed in period costumes, boys threw themselves into various immersive activities.

Throughout the morning, the boys tried many typical crafts, from making candles, inks, soaps, herbal medicines and scent bags to embroidering ‘muckinders’ (handkerchiefs) and painting miniatures.

Then, through drama, role play and questioning, the boys discovered more about the events of the time.

The afternoon’s activity involved storytelling and a Tudor banquet to celebrate Henry VIII’s new queen.

Thank you to the wonderful Remove Form historians and parents who came to help with the activities throughout the day.
