Our Y4 boys started their study of the Romans and Italy in great culinary style this week by whipping up pizzas.

With the help of our catering team, the boys created individual personalised pizzas, which they then got to eat fresh from the ovens in the sunshine on the Queen’s Lawn. The hot debate of the afternoon was whether or not pineapple should go on a pizza. Luckily, we had Miss Valentino on hand who confirmed that pineapple was not a traditional Italian topping!

Over the coming weeks, the boys are looking forward to finding out all about the history of the Romans, including gladiatorial battles and infamous emperors, learning about the geography of Italy and the highlight: a Roman-themed day in costume, as they explore their topic for the term.
