What better week to launch our new Lego Coding Club for boys in Y3 than Coding Week!
We know that boys love the challenge of building robots and coding, and the popularity of our Robotics Club for boys in Y6 to Y8 is a testament to that. We are now delighted to be able to offer a similar club to our younger pupils, and, in time, we hope to roll it out to Y4 boys, too.
Working with the Lego coding kits, the boys used their natural curiosity and creativity to begin their coding experiments and develop their skills. In this first week, the boys successfully built a robot to help push a boat into the water and programmed the motor to turn when instructed. Speaking afterwards, Joseph Bright said he absolutely loved it and was pleased to join the club.
We were also pleased to see the boys showing cooperation, collaboration, and teamwork skills, and we cannot wait to see where their imagination and coding skills take them next.
