Boat Club Annual Dinner and Awards Evening - Saturday 16th March 2019

Dear Past Parent

Thank you to all those past parents who came to the School's fourth Harvest Supper for Farmers and Friends which was held in the Café Bar on Friday 12th October.  This bi-annual event is always very relaxed and informal and gives all those in the farming and rural community the opportunity to come together for an evening of good food and conversation.  Find out more and see photos from the evening.

On the run up to the festive season, there are a number of events taking place at the School which should hopefully appeal to many of you.  I would particularly like to draw your attention to the pre-match Rugby Lunch which takes place at 12.30pm on Saturday 8th December in the Café Bar.  This will be the final Rugby Lunch of the season and the School teams, including the 1st XV, will take on Abingdon in the afternoon.  If you are planning to support the boys and would like to come along to the lunch, please email Bev Marshall by Monday 3rd December.

As always, there will be various musical and performing arts events taking place both at the School and in the Quarry Theatre, details of which can be found in the What's On Brochure. Not included in the brochure, but certainly worth attending, will be the Eagle Choir's Christmas Concert "On Christmas Night" which takes place at 7.30pm in the Recital Hall on Thursday 13th December.  Entry is free, wine and refreshments will be provided and a there will be a retiring collection for charity.  For further details and to find out how you can join the choir, see their website.

I hope to see you at an event in the near future.

Kind regards

Always a very informal affair, it is an opportunity for those who work in farming or in rural communities to come together. Thank you to everyone who came along to support this event.

Going the Extra Mile
Over four days in September, past parents Clare Hind, Juliet Johnson, Emma Tovey and Rachel Armstrong put together a team and took part in the Extra Mile 2018 Challenge in France.  Taking place in the Auvergne Region, the team cycled the 500 mile route, with each cyclist covering approx 45 miles per day each.   So far, they have raised over £5,500 for two children's charities.  You can find out more about their fantastic achievement

Christmas Carols
What better way to get into the festive spirit than to join us at the Upper School Christmas Carol Service in the Chapel at 6.30pm on Friday 7th December.   This is always a wonderful occasion and is a great way to kick off the Christmas festivities.  It is a non-ticketed event, so all you need to do is turn up!  We promise you will leave with a warm glow, not just from the service, but from the mince pies at the end!
