Last Saturday, parents of Prep School boys enjoyed a delightful evening of wine, cheese, and good company in the EMH. The evening, organised by the Prep Guild and hosted by local wine experts, Wisson Hill, provided a perfect blend of fun, knowledge and fundraising.
The tasting featured six carefully selected wines, offering a varied journey through red, white, sparkling, and dessert wines. Each one was thoughtfully paired with a different cheese to bring out the unique flavours in both. From crisp whites to bold reds and a sweet, indulgent dessert wine, every palate was catered to.
The expert husband and wife team at Wisson Hill guided parents through each tasting, providing insights into the origins of the wines, their distinctive notes, and why they were paired with specific cheeses.
Wisson Hill ran a quiz between tastings to see how much knowledge guests had retained, creating an atmosphere of laughter and friendly competition between the tables. There was also a raffle with some great prizes on offer.
The event was an opportunity for parents to socialise in a relaxed atmosphere, all while contributing to the Prep Guild’s fundraising efforts.
The evening ended on a high note, with Wisson Hill receiving much praise and the Prep Guild celebrating a successful night that strengthened ties within the parent community and raised valuable funds for the school.
With such an enthusiastic turnout and positive feedback, there is already talk of making this wine and cheese evening an annual tradition!
