Year 3 boys enjoyed a hands-on, practical workshop in archaeology, designed and delivered by archaeologist, Dr Catherine Parker Heath. In the fun session the boys learnt about how archaeologists study the past by looking at the remains people leave behind.

The boys then enjoyed the chance to carry out their own excavation using archaeological tools, dig trenches (or at least sand pits with hidden artefacts!), handle genuine and reproduction artefacts, and learn some archaeological terminology.   They then used the evidence they found to piece together the life of a long dead Egyptian. A great afternoon’s work!
